Sweeter kisses for Valentine’s Day.
A beautiful smile can make anyone more attractive. And when is that more important than on Valentine’s Day? Even if you have a sweetie on the big day, you can take easy steps in order to put your best smile forward this Valentine’s Day. For this month’s blog, I’m offering a few tips on how you can get your smile romance ready.
- Brush and floss: Not only can flossing help your teeth stay whiter and your breath fresher, it also cuts down on oral bacteria that you can pass along to your partner. In fact, kissing couples can share hundreds of germ species, some of which cause gum disease.
- Eliminate dry mouth: Dry mouth can lead to bad-smelling breath, as well as increase the chance of developing oral disease. Medications and lifestyle habits (like smoking) are common causes of dry mouth, but it could also be a sign of a more serious condition.
- Enjoy some chocolate: If your loved one surprises you with a sweet treat, go ahead and indulge. Unlike some candies, chocolate doesn’t stick to your teeth. After you’re done, just brush your teeth. If you can’t, at least rinse with water or chew sugarless gum.
- Pucker up: Instead of chocolate kisses, give your honey a smooch. Believe it or not, kissing is good for the teeth. It stimulates the production of saliva, which washes away bacteria that can cause tooth decay and gum disease.
- Brighten your smile: ZOOM! Whitening is a fast and easy way to add sparkle to your smile, as are procedures like dental veneers and CEREC one-visit crowns. Even something as simple as a professional cleaning can help you make sure your smile is ready for Cupid’s arrow.

Hi Dr. K.,
The work you did on Monday is amazing. Everything feels normal. No aches, no odd surfaces. thank you!!
I hope I didn’t take too much of your precious time, or your staff’s. I really enjoyed giving you some real honest feedback from a patients point of view. Hope I was able to leave you with some good quick tips (like giving a “dry” patient a tube of lip balm to hold). It makes a huge comfort difference. Maybe when I come you should allow an extra 10 min. Of course if you want me to clam up, just crank up the Nitro and stick something in my mouth.
One suggestion I left with Tiffany is to seriously consider some of the elbow pockets for your arm rests. I have injuries to my neck and left shoulder area from an auto accident in 2010. I’ve experienced those elbow supports before and the make an incredible difference. No tight muscles for 2 hrs. I did notice that my neck and shoulder area were more tender after Monday’s visit, so please seriously consider investing a a couple sets of those. I think you’ll find that patients REALLY appreciate them.
Remember to be marinating over the paid floating holiday for your amazing staff. Lost of companies do it so there is info and suggested guidelines available, I’m sure. It should be something earned after proving themselves a good fit with your team. The more they enjoy their personal lives the more they enjoy their jobs, the more the clients enjoy the staff, the more referrals you’ll get………..see where this leads?
If you ever would like an honest clients point of view, during a staff meeting or marketing meeting, for a few min., please let me know. I love helping good people do well. I pay close attention to details, love to learn. I’m cheep too. Chocolate, lip balm, tooth brushes, coffee & I’m happy. REALLY!!!
BTW; i like your Valentine’s Day photo. I think your smiling face with a big kiss on your forehead should be poster size in your waiting room.
Thanks for all you do. Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!!
See you on the 27th for my “crown”ing touch.
